Scientific interests

I am a neuroscientist deeply interested in the interplay between neurobiology, neurophysiology and cognition and their alterations in affective disorders. My research mainly focuses on the changes in serotonergic transmission, brain structure and behaviour induced by SSRIs. For my doctoral project I use molecular techniques to explore epigenetic changes in the 5-HTT gene and molecular and structural neuroimaging methods to investigate cortical structure and serotonin receptor binding.
